A four-week consultation has commenced today (26 November) on two additional training and accreditation pathways for NatHERS for existing homes.
The pathways are proposed to better support the expansion of the assessor workforce that will be needed to meet an expected increase in demand for existing home ratings in the future.
The two options include:
- a training and accreditation pathway for data collectors who would visit homes to record the information used by accredited assessors to rate homes
- exploration of a company accreditation pathway, enabling businesses to manage aspects of training, professional development and accreditation.
The proposed additions build on the NatHERS for existing homes delivery model, agreed by Energy and Climate Change Ministers in March 2025.
